How Do You Play Timocco?

January 13, 2015 by Eran Arden Leave a Comment

We’ve been hearing reports from therapists and players around the world about the different objects they use to play Timocco. And we’ve noticed ourselves that if we don’t have one of our special ball-gloves handy, there’s nearly always a convenient substitute somewhere within reach - almost any red, blue or green object will do! We’ve noticed another thing also - using different objects can be a good way to work on developing particular skills. For instance, using heavier objects to play … [Read more...]

December 29, 2014 by Eran Arden Leave a Comment

Here at Timocco we’re ushering in the new year with yet another new game we’ve been working on! On the fun side: ‘Shoot for the stars’ is all about a multi-colored cannon that shoots fireworks. Players need to aim the cannon at the target that’s the same color before the fireworks launch to score. But don’t hit the wrong target, those rockets might bounce back… watch out for that! On the skills-building side: Shoot for the stars works across a range of motor and cognitive skills: … [Read more...]

6 year old with CP ‘forgets’ he’s got a weak hand!

July 22, 2014 by Eran Arden Leave a Comment

I met Ben (alias), a cute 6 year-old with hemiplegic CP, when I joined his weekly physiotherapy session at an early childhood development center. Ben was highly motivated to play the games and as a result, he used his weaker hand constantly and for longer periods of time. He played, succeeded, had fun and most of all, worked on strengthening his upper extremities and learned to believe in his abilities. … [Read more...]
