Motivating Visit with our Neighbors at Akron Children’s Hospital!

January 26, 2017 by Jayne Malloy Leave a Comment

On Tuesday, we got the chance to watch Timocco be played by a patient and one of the Akron Children’s Therapists. We asked the child what her favorite game was and she told us it was “Train Tracks”, however after playing “Shoot for the Stars” in our Supination & Pronation platform, she told us she liked playing that game even more! Her therapist, Mary Beth Doerr(OT), mentioned to us before the session that this patient with hemiplegic CP reached further and for longer periods while … [Read more...]

August 5, 2014 by Eran Arden Leave a Comment

Jason was referred to an OT due to concerns about his handwriting and sports ability. He was first seen by an OT in August 2013 at the age of 8. At that time he was given a full Occupational Therapy assessment which highlighted that he is good at Maths and Science, has a good level of general knowledge and an extensive vocabulary. Jason enjoys reading and using a computer, plays the piano and is approaching the second grade. Jason's parents said that his handwriting is difficult to read, and … [Read more...]

6 year old with CP ‘forgets’ he’s got a weak hand!

July 22, 2014 by Eran Arden Leave a Comment

I met Ben (alias), a cute 6 year-old with hemiplegic CP, when I joined his weekly physiotherapy session at an early childhood development center. I joined the sessions to guide his therapist on using Timocco in therapy. Ben was highly motivated to play the games and as a result, he used his weaker hand constantly and for longer periods of time. He played, succeeded, had fun and most of all, worked on strengthening his upper extremities and learned to believe in his abilities. … [Read more...]

Ori, a 5 year old with Autism plays Timocco to get focused

July 15, 2014 by Eran Arden Leave a Comment

“I work with Ori, a charming 5 year-old with autism," says a Kindergarten OT when asked about working with Timocco. Ori is considered to be at a moderate to high functioning level and has difficulties with self-regulation and organization. Even when performing activities he is familiar with, he has problems because of these difficulties. Furthermore, Ori doesn’t stay focused for long periods of time and is easily distracted. In the kindergarten, Ori uses communication cards to express his … [Read more...]

Timocco helps Avigail relate to a child with emotional difficulties

June 16, 2014 by Eran Arden Leave a Comment

I work with a five and a half year-old boy with emotional difficulties. He is very interested in and very much enjoys playing with Timocco - and even makes a point of asking to play with Timocco during our sessions together. <br /> One aspect of the program that I think is really important are the attention and the joint attention features in games such as the Balloon or Bubble Bath games. In these games I used two balls and played together with the child; this enabled us to better … [Read more...]

Sara & Ben tackle motor planning issues using Timocco

June 11, 2014 by Eran Arden Leave a Comment

I started treating Ben, age 4.5, for multi-system disability and motor problems that originated from difficulties in motor planning. In his initial assessment, I noticed problems in gross and fine motor abilities that prevented him from taking part in arts and crafts activities. Even when he progressed and improved in motor coordination, planning and sequencing, he still continued to struggle with being consistent in motor tasks and didn’t want to practice them at home. As a therapist, I … [Read more...]

School OT talks about using Timocco

May 19, 2014 by Eran Arden Leave a Comment

I use Timocco with a few of my patients in our individual sessions. I would like to share with you the work I do with Maya, a seven-year-old girl with significant developmental delays; cognitive difficulties, motor difficulties and severe hypotonia. Maya loves playing Timocco, I can see that she works hard while playing the different games and is gradually improving. In the bubble game, she is supposed to pop the bubbles that appear on the screen. At first, she moved her hands randomly around … [Read more...]

NY therapist, Yita Rimmer, has rave reviews for Timocco!

May 5, 2014 by Eran Arden Leave a Comment

"…I especially enjoy being able to individualize the games for each child’s specific needs". I must tell you how much I love using Timocco with my clients. Timocco helps the children that I am servicing work on visual attention and bilateral coordination, strengthening of the shoulder girdle, improving range of motion, body scheme awareness and integrating both sides of their body in a way that they don’t realize how much practice they are getting. I especially enjoy being able to individualize … [Read more...]

Hen-lee is a student at the “Beit Issie-Shapiro” school in Israel and is a lively and happy child.  As part of her occupational therapy, she started using Timocco, a virtual reality based gaming environment where games are activated by the child’s hand movements which are detected by a camera and then shown on the screen.
