Looking for games that can target skills such as communication, social interaction, problem-solving and sequencing? Here are a few ideas!

Communication:

A number of our games can be used to incorporate opportunities for communication. Communication skills can range from identifying the hidden objects as the child uncovers them in our “Hidden Treasure” game, describing what the Timocco monkey is doing in the unveiled pictures of the “Photo Album” game or identifying shapes, numbers, colors or letter in the “Memory Card” game, which can also be played as a matching game.

Social Interaction; Turn Taking, Teamwork & Sharing a Space with a Partner:

A large number of our games can be played with 2 players – merely by selecting to play with 2 controllers – each child is responsible for the movements of one controller. Timocco has games that then allow for the children to take turns responding to targets based on the colored controller required, as in the “Balloons” game.  A number of games also require the children to work together to reach targets by bringing their hands together and coordinating their combined movements, as in the “Bull’s Eye” game.

Problem Solving & Sequencing:

Although our games specialize in various elements of motor skills, we also have a number of games that incorporate cognitive abilities such as literacy, numeracy, problem-solving and sequencing.  Our “Train Tracks” game requires the child to exercise visual perception skills in conjunction with problem-solving abilities in order to solve the puzzles. This game can also be played with the 2 player setting. The “What’s Next” game is another problem-solving game requiring the child to correctly sequence a series of related day to day activities such as getting ready in the morning, preparing a meal etc.
