Yes, you can certainly use other objects to play Timocco!
Timocco’s gaming gloves don’t contain a sensor – we use a patented, proprietary image processing technology which allows the camera to detect the balls by their shape and color.
What this means is that you can use everyday objects from home or clinic that are circular and match one of the ball colors (red, blue or green) to play Timocco games.
Below are some items I frequently use:
Balloons: If you would like to work on gross motor skills and coordination of both hands, you can use a balloon (in any size) instead of the balls. Holding the balloon encourages the child to synchronize his hands movements, regulate their power grip while moving their hands and change the location of their hands in the available space.
Pegs or thimbles: If you would like to work on fine motor skills, you could use small pegs or thimbles. This way you can encourage the child to use a pinch grip and to work on strengthening their intrinsic palm muscles.
Additional accessories you could use to replace the balls include:
• Rolled-up socks
• Balls (any size)
• A spherical object in the right shade of red, green or blue.
